Concepts
The terms used throughout the ZigZag editor.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Project | The document you save. Stored as a .ZigZagProj file in JSON. |
| Graph | The canvas where operators live. A graph is itself an operator, so graphs nest. The top one is the root graph. |
| Operator | A block that processes data. Operators have data inputs, data outputs, and parameters. |
| Connection | A wire. Data connections join data ports. Parameter connections join one parameter to another. |
| Data type | What flows through a data connection: Texture, Mesh, Model, or Material. |
| Parameter | A control on an operator, such as a float, color, vector, enum, or file path. |
| Viewport | A pan and zoom view of a graph. You can open several. |
| Data viewer | A live preview of a value. |
| Window | A window of its own showing a texture, created by the Window operator. |
