String

A String holds text: a name, a formula, a file path, or anything else typed in. Most strings are a single line. Some operators show a taller box for text that spans lines, and a file or folder path comes with a button next to it that opens the system dialog. A path can still be typed straight into the field.

Any parameter can drive a String. A number is written out as text, and a vector as its numbers separated by commas, such as 1, 2.5. A choice box gives the name of its option. As a source, a String is read as numbers separated by commas or spaces, so the text 1, 2.5 can drive a Vector 2. Text with no number in it counts as 0.
