Mesh

A 3D shape made of vertices, ready to be drawn.

A Mesh is a 3D shape. It is a list of vertices and, usually, a list that says which vertices form each triangle, line or point. Mesh generators make one, other mesh operators change it, and a renderer draws it with a material.

Every vertex carries attributes. The usual ones are Position, Normal, Tangent, two sets of texture coordinates called TexCoord0 and TexCoord1, and a color called Color0. An operator can add attributes of its own under any name.

A mesh remembers how it is meant to be drawn: as points, as separate lines or a connected line, or as separate triangles or a strip of them. It can also carry a material of its own.

A mesh input with nothing connected holds no mesh, and the operator has nothing to work on.

Mesh ports are light blue. A mesh output connects only to a mesh input.
