pre-alpha*

The latest build is version 2639, released 25 Sept 2026.

What's new in version 2639

Added

  • Window operator in IO/System. It shows a texture in a window of its own, with parameters for opening it, its position, size in physical or logical pixels, title, fullscreen, title bar and border, transparency, staying on top and whether it takes input. The window can still be moved, resized or closed by hand.
  • Window Info operator in IO/System. It reports the resolution, logical size, position, display scale, refresh rate and the open, fullscreen and minimized state of a Window operator’s window, so what feeds the window can adapt to it.
  • Dragging one component of a parameter onto another parameter’s port now drives every component of that parameter. Dragging a whole parameter onto a single component fills the components from that one onwards.
  • The object picker has a None entry, and operators inside subgraphs are listed with the path to them, so operators with the same name can be told apart.

Changed

  • The whole project now runs every frame, whichever graph is being viewed.
  • The editor and the graph run in step with the display’s refresh rate instead of at a fixed 60 fps.
  • Fullscreen no longer switches the display’s video mode. On macOS a Retina display keeps its full resolution, and other windows are left alone.
  • Enum parameters keep a value that is not one of the current choices, such as a device that is not plugged in, and show it in red until it can be resolved again.
  • Operators are selected, dragged and right-clicked through their header only.
  • An untitled project whose graph is empty again no longer asks to save changes on quit.

Fixed

  • Crash on quit when the project contains parameter connections.
  • Error when the window was minimized.
  • On macOS, the application no longer hangs while a window animates into or out of the system’s fullscreen.
  • The Feedback operator’s target picker no longer lists every operator when its data type is not set.
  • Text can be selected and copied from the console on Windows again.

Removed

  • Show Window in the texture viewer’s context menu, together with its F and Escape fullscreen keys. The Window operator takes over.

Release page

See Installing for system requirements and setup steps. The editor checks for new versions on startup; the privacy page describes what that sends.

* Pre-alpha means there are no compatibility guarantees yet. Project files may not open in a later build, and features can change or disappear between releases. Expect rough edges, and keep copies of anything you care about.
