Parameters
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Path | String | The image file to load, picked with a file dialog or typed. |
Load Image brings a picture from disk into the graph. Pick a file and the texture output carries it, ready for any texture operator. The file is read again whenever the path changes. Dropping an image file into the editor makes a Load Image with the path already filled in.
The common formats are supported: PNG, JPG, BMP, TGA, GIF, PSD, HDR and the PNM family. A few come with limits. Only the first frame of a GIF is loaded. A PSD gives its flattened image, without layers, and must be in RGB mode with 8 or 16 bits per channel. An HDR file is brought down to ordinary 8 bit color, so its extra range is lost. An image without transparency gets a fully opaque alpha channel.
With no path, or a file that cannot be read, the output carries nothing. To write a texture back to disk, use Save Image.
