Parameters

NameTypeDescription
ResolutionoutputVector 2 IntThe size of what the window shows, in pixels of the display. This is the size to render at for it.
Logical SizeoutputVector 2 IntThe same size in logical pixels, the unit the operating system sizes its windows in.
PositionoutputVector 2 IntWhere the top left corner of the window is on the screen.
DPI ScaleoutputFloatHow many pixels of the display one logical pixel is, so 2 on a 200% display.
Refresh RateoutputFloatHow many frames per second the display the window is on can show.
OpenoutputBoolWhether the window is on screen.
FullscreenoutputBoolWhether the window is open and fullscreen.
MinimizedoutputBoolWhether the window is open but minimized.
WindowReferenceThe Window operator to report on. Only Window operators in this graph or a graph inside it can be picked.

Window Info tells the graph about a window. It points at a Window operator and reports what that window actually is: where it is, how big, on what kind of display and whether it is open. Because the window can be dragged, resized, made fullscreen or closed by hand, this can differ from what the Window operator’s parameters ask for.

The usual reason to use it is the resolution. Feed it into the size of the generators at the start of the chain and everything renders at exactly the size the window shows, whether it is a small window on the desktop or a fullscreen projector. A Window Info can point at a window later in the same graph, so no connection has to run backwards for this. The refresh rate says how fast the display can show frames, which is useful for anything timed to the screen.

The position, sizes, scale and refresh rate keep their last known values while the window is closed or minimized. Before the window has been open for the first time they are what the Window operator asks for, with a scale of 1 and a refresh rate of 60. A fullscreen window reports the corner of its display as its position.

With no window chosen, or when the chosen Window operator has been deleted, Open, Fullscreen and Minimized are off and the other values stay as they were.
