Model

A complete 3D scene from a file, with its meshes, materials and their placement.

A Model is a whole 3D scene as it was saved in a file: one or more meshes, each with its material, arranged in a tree of parts that each have their own position, rotation and scale. Where a mesh is a single shape, a model is a finished thing such as a character or a piece of furniture.

Load 3D Model makes one from a glTF file, with the extension .gltf or .glb. Dropping such a file onto the graph creates the operator with the file already chosen. Only the triangles of a file are loaded; points and lines are left out.

A model input with nothing connected holds an empty model, which draws nothing.

Model ports are pink. A model output connects only to a model input. The data viewer draws the model.
