Limit Speed

Follows its input at a constant speed, never faster than the limit.

Parameters

NameTypeDescription
ValueoutputFloatThe value on its way to the input.
InputFloatThe value to follow.
SpeedFloatThe most the output may move per second, in the units of the input.

Limit Speed follows its input, but never faster than the given speed. When the input jumps, the output moves towards it in a straight line at that speed, and stops the moment it arrives. Changes slower than the limit pass through unchanged.

Because the speed is constant, a bigger jump takes longer to cover. That makes it the right choice when the movement should look like something travelling from one place to another. Smooth is the alternative when every change should take the same amount of time no matter how big it is.

A speed of 0 freezes the output where it is.
